Sleeping beauty is one of the great classics of the ballet repertoire. Ever since the premiere in St. Petersburg in 1890, the dancing Princess Enchanted and enthralled audiences all over the world. The fairy tale about the Princess who sleeps in a hundred years, Tsjajkovskijs beautiful music and classical ballet in Grand Imperial style seems to be an unbeatable combination.
And National ballettens sleeping beauty is made large. 3200 square feet of painted scene rugs and 1768 meters of tulle are some of the things that will cause you to lose your breath. Not to mention beautiful classical ballet with demanding steps and combinations. The latter is something of what makes stars of the ballet world's most talked-about and challenging. History of Ballet legends all have danced the role of Aurora, and now National ballettens stars again to make her living. After the Bjørvika – premiere of this production in 2009, Aftenposten wrote: "the sleeping beauty is a gift to all who will dream, see the light and love."
