After the premiere of Don Pasquale in 1843, Donizetti was commended for its ability to capture the essence of opera buffa genre, thus winning his opera went walking around Europe. Still regarded this as his most refined and popular work.
When Don Pasquale unable to convince his nephew and heir Ernesto to marry for money and not out of love for his Norina, he decides to find himself a bride and provide an heir, which will make nephew disinherit his son.
