JELL-O SHOT Will Be Performed at National Theatret in September

The play Jell-O Shot by Sonja Ferdinand was to have its world premiere at the Royal Danish Theater in Copenhagen in the spring of 2020, directed by the Norwegian director Sigrid Strøm Reibo. The newly written play will now have its world premiere at the Torshov Theater in Oslo in the autumn of 2021.

The cast includes Victoria Ose, Andrine Saether, and Sigurd Myhre.

After an ordinary party and a reasonably successful lie with a red-haired guy, Ida begins a chaotic walk on the edge of the cliff.

Armed with lies, sarcasm, wine and pop culture references, Ida embarks on a "tour the force" towards the abyss, where she has to deal with well-meaning dietary advice, superficial friends' evenings, a bleeding nose and a mother who never stops calling. She just wants to be seen and feel a sense of belonging to something . Is she a man you can love at all?

The Danish playwright Sonja Ferdinand herself has said that she wrote Jell-O Shot because she wanted to tell about a crisis in a true way. About a person who stands outside and in the middle - at the same time. Where the boundary between reality and fiction is so thin that it is almost invisible.

It's director Camilla Kold who will take Ferdinand's express train off to the stage. Kold is a recent graduate of the Oslo Academy of the Arts, and Jell-O Shot is her directorial debut.

Together with set designer and costume designer Nia Damerell, she invites you to a tender and hungry depiction of a human being, a generation and a world in disintegration. It's about standing with your legs in different realities and about how someone with red hair can overturn the whole load.
