A dark comedy about grief, friendship, and what happens when one tragedy is eclipsed by another. Two best friends, Ava and Parker, struggle to process surviving a school shooting that becomes overshadowed by a far deadlier school shooting at a neighboring school on the same day. Written by Alice Stanley Jr. and directed by Heather Lanza, the play stars Sadie Koopman as Ava and Alexandra López as Parker. The play had a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival before making its U.S. premiere.
The Second Best School Shooting at NextStop Theatre asks a brutal question: what happens to grief when the next tragedy comes along and steals the focus? The show is riveting, thought-provoking and not to be missed.
NextStop Theatre will present the U.S. premiere of Alice Stanley Jr.'s dark comedy about two friends grappling with grief after a school shooting is overshadowed by a deadlier tragedy the same day.
