Pocahontas State Park Presents Free Outdoor Concert, 9/10

The Richmond Symphony invites you to enjoy a free outdoor concert on Saturday, September 10 at 6:00pm at the beautiful Pocahontas State Park in Chesterfield, VA. Bring a blanket, picnic basket and family and friends, and enjoy the sounds of live music in an outdoor setting.

The evening includes Rossini's Overture to IL Barbiere di Siviglia [The Barber of Seville], John Williams' Superman March, selections from Carousel and Mamma Mia, and more, and will be led by Richmond Symphony Associate Conductor ChiaHsuan Lin.

This concert is FREE and open to the public (no ticket required).

A $7 parking fee applies.

In the event of rain, the concert will be held on Sunday, September 11 at 6:00pm at James River High School, 3700 James River Road, Midlothian, VA 23113. Pocahontas State Park concert is co-sponsored by the Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Department and the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Founded in 1957, the Richmond Symphony is the largest performing arts organization in Central Virginia. The organization includes an orchestra of more than 70 professional musicians, the 150-voice Richmond Symphony Chorus and more than 260 students in the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra programs. Each season, more than 200,000 members of the community enjoy concerts, and radio broadcasts. The Symphony also provides educational outreach programs to over 50,000 students and teachers each year. The Richmond Symphony is partially funded by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
