The Generic Theater, which is located in downtown Norfolk, VA, will present the world premiere of the play THE (FORMER) PROSTITUTES POTLUCK SUPPER, starting tonight, Oct. 9. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!
The play centers around the lives of six friends who were, at one point in their lives, prostitutes, until an unexpected guest disrupts their monthly potluck supper.
The cast includes Desirée Henry as Miss Lydia, Rona Hyman as Ethel, Rico Robinson as Norma/Norman, Amy E. Mahon as Ruth, Crizti Walsh as Cindy, Courtney-Giselle Cook as Shantai and Anastasia Mitroshchuk as Mary.
THE (FORMER) PROSTITUTES POTLUCK SUPPER is written by Frankie Little Hardin, and received its first staged reading as part of Dezart Performs in Palm Springs 2014, and its second workshop reading at Generic Theater.
Philip Odango will direct the production. Odango's directing credits include 'Night, Mother, Agnes of God, Oleanna, The Mercy Seat, Equus and Roald Dahl's The Witches.
Performances run Oct. 9 - 11, and Oct. 22 - Nov. 8, 2015. Ticket information is available at www.generictheater.org.
