Grey Seal Puppets, Crabgrass Puppets Perform at Alden Puppet Festival

By: Jan. 06, 2012

The Alden Theatre at the McLean Community Center will present its annual Puppet Festival for families from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28. The festival will feature puppet shows by Grey Seal Puppets of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Crabgrass Puppets of Halifax, Vermont. Tickets are $10 per person, which includes admission to both shows and all activities; children 24 months and younger will be admitted free. Advance registration is required. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

The festival is recommended for children ages four and older and their families. Grey Seal Puppets will perform The Emperor’s New Clothes at 1:30 p.m. Crabgrass Puppets will perform Smart and Small Conquers All at 2:30 p.m. Puppet making stations will be open from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The stations are self-guided, so parents can create puppets with their children.

Advance registration is required to attend the festival. To register, visit the Center’s Website, www.mcleancenter.org, and click on the “Register Now” button, using Activity No. 3000.312.

For more information, call the Center at 703-790-0123, TTY: 711, or visit: http://www.mcleancenter.org/kids-teens/childrens-events.asp#Puppet_Festival
