Deb Filler returns to MetroStage in I DID IT MY WAY IN YIDDISH (In English)

Internationally acclaimed Canadian/New Zealand Jewish comic performer, musician and writer Deb Filler returns to MetroStage with her latest smash hit, having performed it in Toronto, London, Sydney, Jerusalem, NYC and LA. A brilliant storyteller she has charmed audiences world-wide with stories of her encounters with three Lennys: Leonard Bernstein, Leonard Cohen and another Jewish musician called Lenny with only a guitar and a raft of lovable characters.

Deb is a one-woman tour de force in this jam-packed, music-filled show. Her last visit to MetroStage she baked challah bread on the stage while she performed Filler Up! and received a Helen Hayes nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Non-Resident Production (2005). Her masterful storytelling continues on our stage in April.

Included in the production of I Did It My Way in Yiddish (in English) is the short film entitled Mr. Bernstein by award-winning director Francine Zuckerman, written by Deb Filler and Guy Hamling, which has been screened in Film Festivals worldwide. It won the Best Drama at the Toronto International Short Film Festival, The Best Short Film, Screen Guild in New Zealand, and the Film Movement Short Film Award, San Francisco Jewish Film Festival.

Although home is Toronto, Deb is considered New Zealand's only Jewish comic (a Ki-brew---a Kiwi Hebrew). She has performed in television series and on stages worldwide, with productions of Filler Up!, Punch Me in the Stomach, and now I Did It My Way in Yiddish (in English). MetroStage is delighted to welcome her back to our stage this spring.

Performances are Thurs, Fri at 8, Sat at 3 and 8, Sun at 3 and 7. All tickets are $45. OR purchase 3 or more for $40 each. For tickets call 703-548-9044 or go online to www.metrostage.org.
