Death Club Radio LIVE Comes to Firehouse

People avoided talking about death until writer, storyteller, and hospice chaplain Alane Cameron Ford started her Death Club Radio program on WRIR-FM. Now you can join the maverick radio host when she performs a live version of her enlightening and entertaining show about that most inevitable and mysterious moment.

"We're excited to be able to expand our show by producing it live on the Firehouse stage," says Ford. "The show will have all of our usual segments -- "Obituary Roundup," the "Daily Something Weird," and "Jack Johnson's Hidden History" -- but we'll also be able to add new theatrical elements as well as take questions from the audience."

"Death is a universal experience but people hardly know anything about it," continues Ford. "Firehouse Theatre has a tradition of offering new and challenging programming so we're happy to be partnering with them in making our exploration of death and dying a vibrant piece of live theater."

"Audiences can expect a great show full of music and stories and live interaction with the show," says David Timberline, Community Engagement Manager at Firehouse. "Alane and her supporting cast have always been able to take a topic that you might expect to be morbid and make it engaging, smart, and fun."

After the initial show in May, Ford will bring the Death Club crew back to the stage every other month. The next installment of Death Club Radio LIVE is scheduled for July 18.
