Whether it is the 1991 Disney animated film, the 1994 Broadway production, or the 2017 live-action movie, almost everyone is familiar with the story of Beauty and the Beast. Reaching almost twenty years since the original animated movie was released, countless iterations of this classic tale have entertained people all over the world.

CFTC's production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast tells the story of an arrogant prince who is cursed by an enchantress, turning him into a terrifying Beast until he can learn to love and be loved in return. When Belle, a young and intelligent woman, comes to the castle after her father is taken captive by the Beast. After trading places with her father to ensure his freedom, Belle, with the help of the others in the castle who have been enchanted, begins to lure the cold and isolated Beast out of his shell.

With an iconic score by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, Beauty and the Beast is sure to delight those of all ages. "Our goal with this production is to tell the story many know and love, while also bringing fresh new energy to the stage," says CFTC Artistic Director, and director of Beauty and the Beast, Amanda Herman. Kirsten Boyd, Producing Director for CFTC encourages audience members to come out for what will be "an honest, heartfelt retelling of this classic tale, with more than a few sparks of theatre magic in our set and costumes.
