1st Stage, Tysons Corner's award-winning professional theater, announces the extension of their critically-acclaimed production of Lobby Hero by Kenneth Lonergan, directed by 1st Stage Artistic Director, Alex Levy.

What does it truly mean to be a hero? While struggling with a world of conflicting truths, the painfully real, beautifully crafted characters of Lobby Hero grapple with their own realities while crashing into the realities of those around them. When a murder accusation disrupts the lives of each character, all must make a decision to act...or not. The main character, a luckless security guard named Jeff, and his tightly wound supervisor find themselves in a careful dance with a pair of police officers with moral ambiguities of their own.

This timely comic drama, by one of the most acclaimed writers of his generation, explores the way race, gender, and duty influence our perceptions and define our moral codes. Status, allegiance, and social conventions are all called into question as Lonergan unravels this quirky, philosophical drama. Terry Teachout ofThe Wall Street Journal said of 1st Stage's production, " This enthralling production, staged with absolute assurance by Alex Levy, 1st Stage's artistic director, is at least as good as-maybe even better than-Playwrights Horizon's original 2001 version.
