SHAKESPEARE IN THE SCHOOLS - Educational Theatre Company

CALL FOR SHAKESPEAREAN PERFORMERS AND TEACHING ARTISTS!

Educational Theatre Company is holding a casting call for performers/teaching artists for our Shakespeare in the Schools program (SIS). We are specifically looking to expand the diversity of our troupe. Individuals of all ethnicities and genders are encouraged to apply.

SIS brings performances and workshops to schools throughout DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. We are seeking skilled Shakespeare performers (both AEA and non-union) who are actively interested in teaching K-12 students to perform and enjoy classical theatre.

Please prepare one 90-second Shakespeare monologue (in verse), a short section of a lesson plan to teach (can be a game, warm-up, introduction to scansion, stage combat, etc.), and a list of any daytime conflicts during the winter/spring of 2017/2018.

Standard compensation is $200 for each half-day event—occurring periodically throughout the academic year—plus paid training.

Auditions are by appointment only:
Monday, September 25th from 11:00am-2:00pm
Wednesday, September 27th from 10:00am-1:00pm
Theater on the Run
3700 S Four Mile Run Dr.
