AUDITION INFORMATION
All auditions and callbacks will be held at Aloha Theatre. Please arrive early and prepared to your best ability.

Auditions will be held Sunday, August 23rd and Tuesday, August 25th and are by online appointment only. Times will be segmented. Reserve a time by signing up at
www.alohatheatre.com. If needed, callbacks will be on Wednesday, August 26th, if needed.

The Aloha Theatre does not discriminate, and will cast performers of all genders, ethnicities, religious backgrounds, and body types. Persons with disabilities or special needs are welcome and encouraged to audition.

We are seeking local talent who are excited to cooperate and collaborate with the directors of the production, and who boast a passion to learn/perform, a positive attitude, unique and fun personalities, with speaking and projecting abilities. This performance will be directed by Grace Klinges and features roles for adults (18+).

We look forward to creating a bold, entertaining experience that encourages audiences to celebrate authenticity, community, and the freedom to be unapologetically themselves.

ROLES AVAILABLE:

Frank-N-Furter (Male Presenting)

Voice: Baritone/Tenor, strong rock singer (D3-G4)

Stage Age: 20s–50s

Frank is the magnetic center of the show—part rock star, part mad scientist, part self-proclaimed god. He is fearless, theatrical, seductive, manipulative, and ultimately vulnerable. Frank commands every room through confidence and charisma, drawing people into his orbit with ease. Beneath the flamboyance is someone terrified of losing power, youth, and relevance.

This role requires exceptional stage presence, comic timing, physical confidence, and the ability to shift from comedy to genuine emotional collapse. Frank should be larger than life without becoming a caricature. We are not seeking a Tim Curry replica and intend to pay homage to the original production while injecting new life into the show. This role requires theatrical intimacy.

Brad Majors (Male Presenting)

Voice: Baritone/Tenor (Bb2-G4)

Stage Age: 20s–30s

Brad is the definition of clean-cut, conservative America. He begins the show stiff, polite, and deeply uncomfortable with anything outside his carefully planned life. Over the course of the evening, his certainty slowly crumbles as he confronts desires and emotions he never expected.

Brad works best when played sincerely rather than as a parody. This role requires theatrical intimacy and wearing minimal clothing for much of the show.

Janet Weiss (Female Presenting)

Voice: Mezzo-Soprano with strong belt (A3-Eb5)

Stage Age: 20s–30s

Janet starts as sweet, naïve, optimistic, and eager for her American Dream future. As the night progresses, she discovers confidence, curiosity, and a surprising appetite for pleasure. Her journey is one of liberation rather than corruption.

The actor should balance innocence with growing boldness. This role requires theatrical intimacy and wearing minimal clothing for much of the show.

Riff Raff (Male Presenting)

Voice: Tenor/Alto (D3-B4)

Stage Age: Any adult

The castle's unsettling handyman, Riff Raff is strange, watchful, and quietly intelligent. While others command attention, he lurks in the background, observing and manipulating events from the shadows. By the end of the show it becomes clear that he has been pulling the strings all along.

Magenta (Female Presenting)

Voice: Mezzo/Alto (Bb3-Eb5)

Stage Age: Any adult

Magenta is mischievous, sardonic, and delightfully chaotic. She shares Riff Raff’s knowledge of what's really happening but enjoys watching the chaos unfold. Equal parts maid, conspirator, and alien revolutionary, the actor playing Magenta should have sharp comic instincts, confidence, and a playful yet dangerous attitude.

Columbia (Female Presenting)

Voice: Mezzo-Soprano (E4-E5) with dance skills. Tap ability preferred

Stage Age: 20s–30s

A groupie and Frank’s devoted ex-lover, Columbia is energetic, optimistic, and emotionally transparent. She wears her heart on her sleeve, desperately trying to hold onto a glamorous past that no longer exists. Her enthusiasm masks genuine heartbreak.

The actor should be an excellent dancer with high energy and the ability to transition quickly between cynicism and sincere emotion.

Rocky (Male Presenting)

Voice: Tenor (A3-G4)

Stage Age: 20s–30s

Rocky is Frank's physically perfect creation—beautiful, innocent, and childlike. Though often objectified by those around him, Rocky's confusion and vulnerability make him sympathetic. He experiences the world with wide-eyed curiosity.

This role demands physical storytelling, athleticism, and comfort with movement. Acting through body language is more important than dialogue. He only has half a brain, after all. This role requires theatrical intimacy.

Eddie (Male Presenting)

Voice: Baritone (rock singer, E3-F#4)

Stage Age: 20s–30s

A loud, charismatic rock-and-roller bursting with confidence and reckless energy. He has had half of his brain removed but it doesn’t seem to bother him. Eddie explodes into the show like a force of nature, bringing humor, danger, and raw sex appeal.

Dr. Everett Scott (Male Presenting)

Voice: Baritone with German accent (E3-F#4)

Stage Age: 50+

Brad and Janet's former science teacher is practical, determined, and surprisingly resourceful. Though often appearing the straight man, he quickly finds himself overwhelmed and enticed by the bizarre events around him.

Eddie and Dr. Scott may be played by the same actor.

The Narrator (Male or Female)

Voice: Any

The Narrator is the audience's guide through the madness. Calm, articulate, and slightly smug, they attempt to explain increasingly ridiculous events with complete seriousness. They should maintain composure even as the world around them becomes more absurd.

Excellent improvisational skills are a major asset, as the narrator will be frequently interrupted with audience callbacks but must keep the show moving. Breaks the third wall with ease.

Usherette (Male or Female)

Voice: Alto/Mezzo (Bb3- E5)

Stage Age: Any adult

The Usherette welcomes the audience into Frank N Furter’s world, blurring the line between audience member, narrator, and phantom. Opening the show, they establish the production's campy celebration of classic B-movies while hinting that something extraordinary is about to happen.

A strong solo singer with charisma and the ability to command the stage independently is essential. The Usherette will also be part of the Phantom Ensemble. Magenta or Columbia may also fill this role depending on talent pool.

Phantom Ensemble (Phantoms, Transylvanians, Usherette)

(Males or Females)

The ensemble creates the unique atmosphere of the castle. They are Frank's devoted followers, members of a freaky alien society, glamorous party guests, eerie servants, and the driving force behind the show's choreography.

Strong movers and dancers are highly encouraged, though enthusiasm and commitment are more important than technical perfection. Ensemble members should fully commit to the show's heightened style, creating a world that feels simultaneously glamorous, gothic, bizarre, and wildly entertaining.

Three ensemble members will be selected as a backing trio for several songs (Eddie’s Teddy, Sword of Damocles, Toucha Toucha Touch Me, Once in a While). Usherette, Magenta, and Columbia may also fill these roles depending on talent pool.
