“Rip Van WINKLE” CASTING NOTICE

Announcing OPEN CALL Auditions for a Three Week Workshop of the Musical “Rip Van Winkle.”
Dennis Kelly Higgins, Producer, is conducting Auditions for an original Musical, based on the legendary tale of the Catskills “Rip Van Winkle,” by Washington Irving. Seeking excellent Dancers, Singers, & Actors. There will be a Paid Stipend of $300.00(Three Hundred Dollars) for the experience. All ethnicities welcome. Multi Racial Casting .

Auditions will be conducted on Thursday, October 5, and Friday, October 6, 12 Noon to 4 PM. The location is: The Magnet Training Center, 22 West 32 Street, 10 Floor. No appointments necessary. Rehearsals will take place stating Monday, October 9, and continue on Wednesdays, and Fridays, through October 27, when there will be a performance for invited Industry Professionals and Guests. Please bring a Prepared Song or Two to the Auditions. An Accompanist will be provided. Dress casually for dancing.

CAST BREAKDOWN


Rip: 22-35 years old. A pioneer, the authentic article. Always with a good word or a joke. Entertains folks with his Guitar and Harmonica.
Gretchen: 22-35. Rip’s wife. A Dame. Gentle but firm. A great singer and dancer.
Derrick: 22-35. Rip’s friend and rival. An aristocrat. Owns the Tavern, and most everything else. Believes Rip’s wife married beneath herself.
Herman: 18-25. Thinks of himself as the best catch in town. Headed for New York to make his fortune.
Alice: 18-25. Rip’s daughter. Beautiful and smart. The most desirable girl in the Village.
Henry Hudson: 30-45. Explorer. Captain of his pirate crew, still seeking adventure.
