BERGEN COUNTY PLAYERS SEEK ACTOR FOR IT'S ONLY A PLAY
Bergen County Players of Oradell,
winner of NJACT's 2015 Community Theatre of the Year award, is looking
for actors to read for the role of James Wicker in its production of
It's Only a Play (2014 version), written by Terrance McNally.
James Wicker is the playwright's best friend and an actor in his 40's.
He and the playwright (Peter) rose to fame together but he abandoned
the theater - and Peter - to star in a hit TV show - which has been
cancelled. Peter wrote the lead in his current play for him, but he
refused to be in it due to his TV schedule.
Upon being cast, any non-member will need to become a member of the
Bergen County Players; details will be provided at auditions. No
equity members will be cast for this production.
It's Only a Play will be performed May 5 - June 3, 2018 (a benefit
performance might be added on May 31). There are no performances on
Sunday May 13 and Memorial Day Weekend, May 25 - 27.
