Granite Theatre announces double auditions!

The Granite Theatre of Westerly, will be holding double auditions for Frederick Knott’s classic mystery “Dial M For Murder” directed by Brian Olsen and David Auburn’s drama “Proof” to be directed by David Jepson . The auditions are Monday January 15 at and Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 7 pm at the theatre, 1 Granite Street, Westerly, RI. The show is produced by David Jepson. There are 3 weekends a total of 9 performances for each show. “Dial M For Murder performs March 23 – April 8, 2018 and “Proof” performs April 27 – May 12.

“Dial M For Murder” - Tony Wendice has married his wife, Margot, for her money and now plans to murder her for the same reason. He arranges the perfect murder. He blackmails a scoundrel he used to know into strangling her for a fee of one thousand pounds, and arranges a brilliant alibi for himself. When the plans go temporarily awry the husband must quickly devise an even more devious plan to achieve his ends. A police inspector from Scotland Yard and a young man who is in love with the wife begin a fevered search for the truth, in a scene of almost unbearable suspense. tingling with excitement” —NY Times. It's a holiday for the whodunit fans. —NY Herald-Tribune.

“Dial M For Murder” the theatre is looking for 2 Men and 1 Woman to play 30’s to 40’s and 3 Men between the ages 30’s to 50’s.

“Proof” - Catherine has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, Robert. When he dies she has more than grief to deal with: there's her estranged sister, Claire, and Hal, a former student of her father's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that Robert left behind. And a further problem: how much of her father's madness or genius will Catherine inherit? Gwyneth Paltrow starred in this Pultizer Prize-winning play in 2001.

Proof” needs the following cast: 2 Women mid-20’s to mid-30’s and 1 Man late 20’s to mid-30’s.

All roles are open. No appointments are necessary. Please bring a head shot or current photo with you to the audition if you have not auditioned with us previously. Readings will be from the script.
