A Summer Rose In Winter – Frostbite Productions & Michael J. Austin will be holding an OPEN CALL on May 16th for its upcoming New York showcase of a new show called A Summer Rose in Winter.

SYNOPSIS
“The place: A humble student’s apartment with a sofa, shelf, table, chair, and easel. This is Tom’s new
home. His mother Rose was terminally ill, and Tom recently fulfilled her dying wish - the wish to die.
Tom is trying to process what happened. His neighbor, Iris, quickly becomes an important romantic
interest in his life, but she unfortunately reminds him of his mother. Tom relives the story of his
mother’s life and death, haunted by the past while trying to live fully in the present.”

BREAKDOWN - ALL Roles Available

Tom: (A-A) 19-20. Art student. Grew up in the rural New England, and now lives in the big city. He is struggling to cope with the recent death of his single mother, whom he nursed.

Iris: (A-F#) 19-20. Tom´s neighbor. Second year biology student. A Southern girl with a big mouth and
equally big heart, she enters Tom´s life like a thunderstorm. She reminds Tom of his mother, which makes him relive his past.

Rose: (G-E) 35-40. Illustrator. Raised Tom in her native rural New England town. A strong, independent
single mother who is full of life, in spite of her mortal battle with cancer.
