Auditions for New Hampshire Theatre Project’s Youth Repertory Company will be held on Wednesdays, September 3 & 10, from 4:00-7:00 pm at West End Studio Theatre, 959 Islington Street, Portsmouth, NH. For auditions, please memorize two contrasting 1-2 minute monologues, and bring a headshot and resume, or list of theatre experiences and related skills. Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian as auditions will include a short interview with student and parent or guardian. Audition slots are 15 minutes.

The NHTP Youth Repertory Company is a pre-professional program designed for gifted, disciplined students ages 10-17 who have demonstrated a serious commitment to learning the craft of theatre. Participation is by audition only. Repertory Company members have additional opportunities to participate in master classes with professional artists and internships in directing, acting, technical theatre, and drama in education. Attendance at all classes, workshops, rehearsals and performances is mandatory.

Repertory Company alumni have stressed that participation in this program was an important factor in their college acceptances. Participants in the NHTP Repertory Company complete all K-12 curriculum requirements for drama in the national standards. Some high schools offer credits for participation.

Recent graduate Brigid Abreau was one of only 15 students accepted nationally to UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television in 2012. She writes, “NHTP challenged me to explore things I never thought I could. My weaknesses became strengths with the help of this amazing organization. The environment is one of family – accepting and good-hearted.”

Thanks to a generous endowment from the Cherylanne Williams Scholarship Fund at the NH Charitable Foundation, some scholarship opportunities are available each year to both the Junior & Senior Companies. Scholarship awards are based on both merit and financial need. Please inquire for additional information.
