Playmakers Announce Their 2010 Winter Classes

Playmakers announces winter drama class offerings. Playmakers of Baton Rouge has begun online registrations for its 2010 winter drama classes. The winter curriculum includes classes appropriate for ages 4 and up! Weekday and Saturday classes will be offered at the Playmakers' RehearsAl Hall located at 10772 N. Harrell's Ferry Rd. in the Reeves Shopping Center beginning February 22nd. Playmakers is excited to announce two new instructors: Drew Battles and Sonya Blanchard. Mr. Battles will be teaching a Monday night improve class for ages 11-14 from 6:30-8pm called Laugh Out Load! He has a MFA in Acting from Brown/Trinity and is a featured actor with LSU's Swine Palace, Southern Rep in New Orleans, and Tulane Shakespeare Festival. Sonya Blanchard holds a Master of Arts degree from LSU and has studied the art of dance in the Gonzales and Baton Rouge areas for 36 years. She will be teaching Broadway Kids, a Saturday musical theatre class from 10-11am for ages 6-9.

Other class offerings include: Leading Ladies a musical theatre class for girls ages 8-12 on Monday nights from 5pm-6:30pm taught by Kristy Coast and Marnie Price, Superheros and Villains, creative drama for ages 8-11 years, on either Tuesdays from 4:30-6pm or Saturdays from 11:30am-1pm taught by Jack Lampert, and Once Upon a Time, creative dramatics for ages 4-5 on either Thursdays from 4:30-5:20pm or Saturdays from 9am-9:50am taught by Cristin Ponjuan. Lastly, a second section of Broadway Kids will be taught on Wednesdays from 5-6pm by Marnie Price.
