Two River Theater Company Presents Limited Engagement of ALL TOO HUMAN..., 4/9-4/11

Clarence Darrow, America's most famous trial lawyer, defended the rights of sinners. The fact that he was no saint himself, just adds to his renown. In All Too Human: An Evening with Clarence Darrow, Henry Miller-a trial lawyer himself-explores (among others) "The Scopes Monkey Trial" , where Darrow defended a teacher's right to teach the theory of evolution in a school in Tennessee; as well as the controversial trial of "Leopold and Loeb". Miller's one-act show gives us a fresh insight into why this giant of jurisprudence inspired generations, and left such an indelible mark on the nation.

Biographies
Henry is a senior member of Clark, Gagliardi & Miller, P.C., a small law firm in White Plains, New York. He has been actively trying cases of all types for over 40 years. His verdict in Lanera v. Hertz resulted in the highest award ever in the State of New York for the element of nurture-that is, the loss of a mother's guidance to a child and was one of many multi-million-dollar awards Henry has obtained for clients either at trial or by settlement. He is Past President of both the New York State and Westchester County Bar Associations and is one of very few trial attorneys in the country who has been both a Regent of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a Director of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, two of the most prestigious national trial lawyer associations.

He was appointed by Gov. Mario Cuomo to chair the Commission on Local Government Ethics. He was appointed by Gov. George Pataki to be a member of the Committee on Cameras in the Courtroom.

Henry frequently appears on television and radio. He also often lectures at law schools (Harvard, Columbia, Fordham, St. John's, Cardozo, New York University) and at Bar Associations on all aspects of trial practice. Henry has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at St. John's Law School. He was the recipient of the Pace University School of Law Distinguished Service Award in November, 1997. He served in the U.S. Army (Honorable Discharge as Corporal), stationed in Korea for 1 1/2 years.

He is the author of the "Settlements in the Art of Advocacy" series as well as the editor of the "New York Practice Guide on Negligence", both published by Matthew Bender. Most recently he authored "On Trial: Lessons from a Lifetime in the Courtroom", published by ALM Publishing.
