The Yardley Players Bring MOUSETRAP to MCCC's Kelsey Theatre, Now thru 10/5
The setting is an idyllic English manor house newly opened by an eager young couple, Molly and Giles Ralston. But the scene is about to sour, as word of a murder is announced on the radio and a worsening snowstorm strands the manor's odd assortment of guests. The Yardley Players presents Agatha Christie's most enduring classic, "The Mousetrap," at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre for two thrilling weekends: Fridays, Sept. 26 and Oct. 3 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Sept. 27 and Oct. 4; and Sundays, Sept. 28 and Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is conveniently located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew will follow the opening night performance on Sept. 26.
When a group of strangers is trapped together during a snowstorm amid news of a murder nearby, mistrust and fear soon take center stage. Could the murderer be among them? No one is above suspicion - not the guest house owners, the spinster with the mysterious background, the architect, the retired Army Major, or the man who turns up claiming his car has overturned in a snow bank. After more than 60 years on stage in London - making it the longest continuous run of any play in history - "The Mousetrap" still keeps audiences on the edge of their seats and guessing until the very end.
The show stars William Mercado of Hightstown as Sergeant Trotter and Elizabeth Rzasa of Lawrenceville as Mollie Ralston. Also featured are Jessica Braynor of Lawrenceville as Miss Casewell; Andrew Gordon of West Windsor as Christopher Wren; Kevin Hallam of Hamilton as Major Metcalf; Marilyn Licciardello of Pennington as Mrs. Boyle; Christopher Neuman of Hamilton as Giles Ralston; and Joseph Perignat of Furlong, Pa., as Mr. Paravicini.
The production staff includes producer Marge Swider, director Michael Diiorio, set and sound designer Michael Almstedt, costumer Louisa Murey, stage manager Christine Szemis, photographer John Blazejewski and lighting designer M. Kitty Getlik.
Tickets for "The Mousetrap" are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and $14 for students and children. Free parking is available next to the theater. Tickets may be purchased online at www.kelseytheatre.net or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-570-3333.
