The Color Purple, a bold, captivating saga of love, family, and faith, finds a place to celebrate in its Southern New Jersey premiere! The Road Company is proud to present The Color Purple, running October 23 - November 8, 2014 (Thursdays at 7pm; Friday and Saturdays at 8pm; Sundays at 2pm) and tickets range from $22-$25 with discounts for seniors, students and groups. Performances are in the Grand Theatre, located at 405 S. Main Street, Williamstown, NJ. Tickets are available at www.roadcompany.com or 856-728-2120. See the Fact Sheet below for more details.

There are no feelings more human and timeless than love and faith, and no musical celebrates them more honestly than The Color Purple. Beginning in the early 1900s and sprawling four decades, this touching story chronicles the tribulations and tender explorations of Celie, a poor girl in rural Georgia. The world of the South for Celie is a troubled one -- her faith is shaken, and her family is torn apart. Married to and abused by a man she doesn't love, all to protect a sister she cannot be with, Celie dives into the depth of human sacrifice and will. Can Celie, and her faith in God, survive?

The Color Purple features a strong cast and ensemble, and presents a musical accompaniment rich with jazz, ragtime, and blues. Adapted from Alice Walker's Pulitzer Prize winning novel and the popular Steven Speilberg movie, this epic tale is sure to touch your heart. The cast has devoted an amazing amount of time and talent into making a strong show, even reaching out to Oprah Winfrey for support.

Make sure to come out and see this celebration of love in the Road Company's season, directed by Suzanne Baldino-Jones. The Road Company is excited to bring new and exciting plays and musicals to the area. Don't miss this opportunity to be a part of New Jersey theatre history!
