The Pastel Society of New Jersey to Bring First Biennial Juried Exhibition to MPAC Gallery

By:

The Pastel Society of New Jersey will be holding the First Biennial Juried Exhibition for its Signature members at the Art Upstairs Gallery at Mayo Performing Arts Center from April 11-May 16, 2017.

An artists' reception will take place Saturday, April 22 from 3 pm - 5 pm. The reception is free and open to the public.

Signature members have already earned a level of distinction by being accepted into the Society's annual Members' Juried Exhibition three times in a five year period. This inaugural exhibition provides a new challenge for the already accomplished roster of Signature members and the first step to earning a new designation as a Distinguished Signature Member.

The Pastel Society of New Jersey was founded in 2005 and quickly grew from 44 charter members to over 190 members in the organization.

The mission of the Pastel Society of New Jersey shall be to secure a membership of dedicated pastel painters, to promote educational activities such as programs, demonstrations, and workshops of pastel techniques to benefit the artistic and professional goals of its members, to exhibit pastel paintings of professional quality, to increase and expand opportunities for pastel artists in New Jersey, and to promote and educate the public interest in pastel painting."

Please visit the website at www.pastelsocietynj.org for more information.

The Gallery is open Tuesdays from 3 - 5 and Wednesday from 10 - 1, as well two hours prior to performances for ticket holders and by appointment. To schedule an appointment, call 973-539-0345, X 6506.
