The Tattoo Man of Broadway, Arnold Ornstein is treating a group of students from JFK high school to a performance of IN THE HEIGHTS on May 25. Ornstein has almost twenty tattoos representing his favorite Broadway shows and performers, including SPRING AWAKENING, IN THE HEIGHTS, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, BILLY ELLIOT, MEMPHIS, PIPPIN, AVENUE Q, LES MISERABLES, Sutton Foster, Hunter Foster, Roger Bart, Harvey Hierstein and Nathan Lane among others.

Ornstein has explained that he endured the pain in order to stand next to the actors and creative and technical teams behind the shows who have gone through such pain to reach the top of the industry.

Ornstein can often be seen in Duffy Square around TKTS giving advice to tourists on what shows to see. Before seeing the show Ornstein will also treat the students to dinner at Juniors.

In the Heights opened on Broadway to wide critical acclaim on March 9, 2008, and continues to play the Richard Rodgers Theatre. In addition to winning the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical, Lin-Manuel Miranda, the show's creator, won the Tony Award for Best Music and Lyrics; Andy Blankenbuehler won for Best Choreography; and Alex Lacamoire and Bill Sherman won for Best Orchestrations. The original cast recording won the 2008 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, and Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to produce a feature film based on the smash hit musical.
