THE LITTLE PRINCE to Bring Wonderment of Childhood to MPAC This Spring

By:

All grown-ups were children once, although few of us remember the wonderment of childhood. The astonishing and beautiful tale The Little Prince will remind you! Mayo Performing Arts Center presents The Little Prince on Sunday, May 7 at 1:30 and 4:30 pm. Tickets are $12-15.

The 4:30 performance will be an autism friendly performance. MPAC autism friendly performances have been designed to create a supportive, welcoming experience for children on the autism spectrum. Each performance features modulated sound and light levels and a relaxed environment where the audience is free to talk, vocalize, and leave and re-enter the seating area. All children and their families are welcome to enjoy these performances. Support for this performance is provided by the George A. Ohl, Jr. Trust.

A pilot crashes in the Sahara desert and while frantically trying to repair his wrecked plane he is interrupted by the apparition of a little boy who asks him to draw a sheep. As absurd as it seems, a thousand miles from all inhabited regions and in danger of death, he takes out a scrap of paper and a pen. And so begins their adventure.

This iconic masterpiece is a tale for all ages, about understanding how to laugh, love and cry again. Inventive puppets, live actors, original music and magnificent set design to bring to life the heart-warming story of the Little Prince who gains rare and unique insights into love, loss and laughter. This Little Prince is a multi-layered visual feast to awaken the child tucked away inside us all.

The Little Prince, by Antione de St. Exupery, is one of the most beloved books of all time. Written in 1943 it has sold over 150 million copies in almost 300 languages.
