Stage Scene & Song Performing Arts to Present 13, 8/1-3
Bergen County's inventive youth theater company, Stage Scene & Song Performing Arts (3sPA), through its 2014 Summer Collaborative for teens ages 12-18, is proud to present 13 music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown and book by Dan Elish! 13 is a hilarious pop musical with a big mission: to remind the world that becoming a teenager is not a piece of cake! Turning 13 is more than discovering acne - it's about finding out who you are, finding out what you need, and finding out what's really important. This is a story about Evan Goldman. He turns 13 in just 6 short weeks, a huge milestone in any kid's life. But not so for Evan! A die-hard, native New Yorker, he's just been plucked from the Big Apple and plopped in Appleton, Indiana with his mother. His folks are divorced, the new kids are likely all hicks, and the choice girl is dating the school bully. But he's set on one goal: get all the cool kids in school to come to his Bar Mitzvah, or else spend the rest of his Indiana days banished to the land of the "honest to goodness" Geeks. Hey, if Moses can part the Red Sea....
Featuring (In Alphabetical Order): Ben Daniel, Patrick DeBiase, Keara Fernandez, Nicole Lieberman, Dean Manikas, Julia Moore, Joel Noonan, Patrick O'Hare Barrows, Robyn Roznitsky, Areg Safari, Amy Santo, Jillian Santos, Katie Suarez, Alyssa Talmo. The participants represent nine junior and senior high schools in Bergen County including Pascack Valley H.S., River Dell H.S., Bergen County Academies, The Village School, George White Middle School, Holdrum Middle School, Park Ridge Jr./Sr. H. S. and Cavallini Middle School .
The Production Team includes Director Frank Avellino (Hackensack), Musical Director Argine Safari (Fort Lee); Artistic Director Ellyn Essig (River Vale), Dan Pasquale (River Vale), Paige Strothman (Maywood), Gerard Bourcier (Hillsdale), Vittoria Fronte (River Vale); Pat Bain, Jillian Rezen (River Vale), Amanda Miller, Erin Browning (Oradell) and Abby Light (Paramus).
Performance Dates: August 1st & 2nd @ 7pm and August 3rd @ 1pm at The Theater at Pascack Hills High School, 225 West Grand Avenue, Montvale, NJ. Tickets on sale at http://www.seatyourself.biz/3spa.
