SUM OF PARTS By Houston Thomas To Have World Premiere at Nimbus Dance
SUM OF PARTS features a live choral score by Saunder Choi at Jersey City's Nimbus Dance.
Nimbus Dance will present Sum of Parts, a program of contemporary dance works featuring a world premiere and live choral performance.
The production will include four works and a newly composed score performed by a 30-voice ensemble. The program is part of the company’s programming marking the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Sum of Parts features the world premiere of A Land, A Promise by Princess Grace Award-winning choreographer Houston Thomas, set to a newly composed choral score by Saunder Choi and performed live by the West Village Chorale.
The program will also include works by Pedro Ruiz and Yoshito Sakuraba, alongside the return of Through the Golden Door, created with author Helene Stapinski and Jersey City residents Mary Aiken, Sam Pesin, Ben Jones, Juan Cartagena, Tina Maneca, Catherine Hecht, Joe Waks, and Danielle Scott.
Sum of Parts is supported in part by funding through the New Jersey Economic Development Authority A.R.T. - Phase II Grant Program. Through the Golden Door is supported in part by the Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs/Tourism Development through the Hudson County Local Arts Program.
