Cabaret Theatre is proud to announce its second show of the spring semester: Cloud 9 by acclaimed British playwright Caryl Churchill.

Cloud 9 is an ensemble based play that explores the politics of gender and sexuality. The first act is set in colonial Africa during the Victorian Era and catapults one hundred years into 1980's London amidst the turbulent forces of Feminist and Gay Rights movements.

By juxtaposing these two eras, Churchill sheds light on the mechanisms of oppression and the constraining qualities of gender and sexual binaries. Both a farcical comedy and moving domestic drama, Churchill uses the theatrics of gender-bending and double casting to explore the complex, relevant terrain of sexual liberation and gender equality.

The cast includes Sabrina Blackburn, Anne Csipkay, Nicholas James, Shannon Loughnane, Taylor McKay, Marc Mills, and Boris Van Der Ree.

Danny Cassidy is directing Cabaret Theatre's production of Cloud 9. The production staff includes Farnaz Mansouri as Assistant Director, Meg King as Stage Manager, and Erik Stratton as Assistant Stage Manager.

Cloud 9 will run the first weekend of April. The show opens on Friday April 1st at 8PM with additional performances on April 2nd at 8PM and April 3rd at 7PM.

Ticket prices are $7 for students/faculty/staff and $12 for general public.

For reservations, email <cabtheatre@gmail.com> with your name, the number of seats you are requesting, date and time of performance, and your contact information.

Cabaret Theatre is located on 7 Suydam St (on the corner of Suydam and Nichol) on Rutgers' Douglass Campus.
