Rover Presents New Comedy THE PLAYMAKERS

Rover Dramawerks continues their 19th Season with the comedy The PlayMakers by Julie Zaffarano, winner of their 2018 new full-length comedy contest. Performances will be at Rover's theatre in Plano, located in Ruisseau Village at 221 W. Parker Rd, Suite 580, at the northwest corner of Parker and 75. Performances run February 7-23 on Thursdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. and on Saturdays at 3:00 and 8:00 p.m.
Lisa (played by Melanie Doyle) and Sebastian (played by Robert Shores) were a successful romantic comedy playwriting team and lovers whose professional and personal relationships unraveled, crashed, and burned. After several years apart, they are thrown together by a producer to create a revival play. As they try to recapture their signature spark, their characters (all of whom are played by Jason Davis, Tracie Foster, Chelsea Paige, and Reginald Wilcox) revolt as the lines between reality and fantasy blur.
Jill Lightfoot serves as director, with Sara Jones as stage manager. Set design is by Edgar Hernandez, and lighting and sound design is by Kenneth Hall. Sakura Brunette provides costume design, with props designed by Catherine Harris.
Thursday, February 7 is Preview Night, with all seats $10.00 in advance online or "pay-what-you-can" at the door. Following the show on Friday, February 8, Rover will host their First Friday INSIDERS reception, where patrons can meet the cast, director, and designers. Regular ticket prices for The PlayMakers are $24.00 Friday and Saturday nights and $18.00 on Thursdays and matinees, with discounts for teachers, students, and seniors. Group rates are also available. Tickets may be ordered online at www.roverdramawerks.com, and season subscriptions for Rover's 19th Season are also available.
