Playful Theatre's A CHORUS LINE Comes to West Windsor's Kelsey Theatre, 4/27-5/6

Playful Theatre Productions presents "A Chorus Line" at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre.

Dates and times for this musical sensation are Fridays, April 27 and May 4 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, April 28 and May 5 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, April 29 and May 6 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on Mercer's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on April 27.

"A Chorus Line" is the musical for anyone who has ever had a dream and put it all on the line to make it happen. Follow the lives of 17 dancers as they audition for a Broadway musical that could be the chance of a lifetime. The show provides a poignant glimpse into the personalities of the performers and the choreographer as they describe the events that have shaped their lives and their decisions to become dancers. Join the cast as they pull the audience in with their opening number, "I Hope I Get It," all the way through to the grand finale performance of "One" with a team of kick line dancers.

The original 1975 Broadway production of "A Chorus Line" was an unprecedented box office and critical hit, receiving 12 Tony Award nominations and winning nine of them, in addition to the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It became the longest-running production in Broadway history until it was surpassed by "Cats" in 1997. The show has enjoyed many successful revivals worldwide, including a Broadway revival in 2006. With NBC's recent hit series "Smash" following closely to the storyline of this original production, "A Chorus Line" becomes new and invigorating once again.

Skillman of West Windsor as Sheila; Mari Skoultchi of Skillman as Connie; Samuel Spare of Howell as Mike; Rachel Tovar of Plainsboro as Vicki; Stephanie Venanzi of Hamilton as Judy; Kyrus Keenan Westcott of Plainsboro as Richie; Koren Zander of Avenel as Larry; and Elissa Zavodnick of Newtown, PA, as Bebe Benzenheimer.

The show is directed by Frank Ferrara, with choreography by Dani Tucci-Juraga. Vocal Director is Shannon Ferrara, and the orchestra is conducted by James Capes.
