Photo Flash: First Look at LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES at ActorsNET
Les Liaisons Dangereuses -- Christopher Hampton's sensual adult drama about the 18th-century French nobility at its ignoble worst -- will enjoy a July 11 - 27 run at the intimate Heritage Center Theatre stage in Morrisville. Scroll down for a first look at the cast in action!
As the final show of the ActorsNET's 18th season, this work chronicles the depraved exploits of Marquise de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont. The pair are rivals who perversely use sex as a weapon of humiliation and degradation, all the while enjoying their cruel games. They target the virtuous (and married) Madame de Tourvel and Cécile de Volanges, a young girl who has fallen in love with her music tutor, the Chevalier Danceny. To dupe them into trusting them, the decadent Merteuil and Valmont pretend to help the secret lovers in order to later use the young couple for their treacherous schemes.
Cat Miller of Bristol directs Stephanie Smith of Stockton, NJ, who stars as the bitter Marquise de Merteuil opposite DeLarme Landes of Doylestown as the seductive Vicomte de Valmont. Before their warped and depraved game ends, lives will be unraveled and blood will be spilled.
The ActorsNET production also costars Margo O'Moore of Dresher and Mary Carmello of Fairless Hills and features Linda Cunningham of Yardley; Paloma Burr of Princeton, NJ; Matthew Whiteside, Michael Gearty and Ken Ammerman of Morrisville; and Cat Miller in a supporting role.
Due to the mature themes in this play, ActorsNET is not selling children's tickets for this offering. Performances run from July 11 through 27, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $17 for seniors (62+) and $15 for WHYY card members and college students with ID. To reserve, phone 215-295-3694 or email actorsnet@aol.com. Online tickets can be purchased via www.brownpapertickets.com. The company's website is www.actorsnetbucks.org; Facebook is at www.facebook.com/theactorsnet, and the Twitter name is @actorsnet. The Heritage Center Theatre is located at 635 N. Delmorr Avenue (Route 32), Morrisville -- near the Calhoun Street Bridge. There is ample free parking.
