Passage Theatre, Trenton's premiere professional theater company, will present Emmy-nominated writer and performer Jeffrey Solomon in his critically acclaimed solo show, MotherSON for two performances - Saturday, March 27 at 8pm and Sunday, March 28 at 3pm - as part of its 8th Annual Solo Flights Festival.

Jeffrey Solomon created MotherSON as a tribute to his mother, whose struggle to accept and understand her gay son is chronicled in this poignant and hilarious one-person play. The production was a critical hit in Chicago and London and features Solomon as both mother and son in a performance the Chicago Free Press calls "So believable, we forget we're watching one actor."

MotherSON recently played to critical acclaim in London's Off West End at the New End Theatre and the Leeds International Jewish Performing Arts Festival. The work has toured widely around the U.S. including the Meeting House Theater Provincetown (MA), the Penguin Rep in Stony Point NY, Theatre J. in Washington D.C., and Chicago's Bailiwick Repertory, where his performance was nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award Citation for Best Actor. He received top honors at the 2002 Columbus National Gay and Lesbian Theater Festival, winning the award for Best Solo Performer, Best Playwriting and audience favorite for MotherSON. Jeffrey Solomon created an issue-based Saturday morning television program on ABC called CityKids for Jim Henson Productions, and was a staff writer for the series. His pilot episode was nominated for an Emmy Award as Best Children's Special as well as winning an Ollie Award for excellence in Children's Programming and a Golden Rose Award for Human Values.

Passage Theatre performs in the historic Mill Hill Playhouse an intimate 100-seat theater in the heart of downtown Trenton adjacent to the beautiful Mill Hill district. Security-guarded on-street parking is available on S. Montgomery St., Ernie Kovacs St., E. Front Street and in the Artworks parking lot.
