Nimbus Presents JERSEY CITY NUTCRACKER
For the 8th consecutive year, Nimbus presents local holiday favorite: Jersey City Nutcracker. Set to Tchaikovsky's renowned orchestral score, Jersey City Nutcracker tells the story of two children's city adventure; following them through fantasy, adversity and celebration with lessons about friendship and community along the way.
Directed and Choreographed by Nimbus Artistic Director Samuel Pott, with libretto by Alysia Souder, costumes by Jennifer Bentley, and lighting by Lance Michel, Jersey City Nutcracker features Nimbus Dance Works' Professional Company Dancers with talented local youth from the school of Nimbus Dance Works as well as from: Cornelia F. Bradford School, Frank R. Conwell Elementary and Middle School and Martin Center for the Arts. Lead youth performers include Lucy Reider and Quincy Willingham (High Tech High School), Angel Browne (Snyder High School) and Victoria Arias (Newark Arts High). Plus - guest appearances by local celebrities!
For the sixth straight year, Goldman Sachs is the lead sponsor of Jersey City Nutcracker. Says Anthony Cammarata Jr., Managing Director, Corporate Services and Real Estate at Goldman Sachs:
"Now in its 8th season, Nimbus Dance Works' production of the Jersey City Nutcracker is a special tradition that brings professional dancers, talented youth, and the local community together in celebration of the holiday season. Goldman Sachs is pleased to continue serving as lead sponsor for this production and congratulates Nimbus on its continued growth and expanded reach across Jersey City."
