Newark International Film Festival Set to Award Over $100,000 in Prizes

The Newark International Film Festival (NewarkIFF) announced today that it will award $10,000 to $100,000 in cash prizes, awards, swag bags and film fellowships at its annual festival, taking place September 8-10, 2017. The cash award categories include; $10,000 for "Best Narrative Feature," and $2,500 for "Best Movie Short" and "Best Documentary Feature." In addition, NewarkIFF will offer distribution opportunities with a variety of film industry innovators, including, but not limited to, FubuTV.
"We are thrilled to be offering these prizes and opportunities to our filmmakers. So far, the response has been tremendous! We've had submissions from over 46 countries," said NewarkIFF founder, Kenneth Gifford. NewarkIFF is accepting submissions for all categories until Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at newarkIFF.com. Click on the "Submissions" tab. About the Newark International Film Festival: The Newark International Film Festival is the first international film festival hosted in Newark, NJ. It was founded by Kenneth Gifford, Director of the Newark Office of Film and Television and Ironbound Studios. It is a 3-day festival, taking place September 8-10, 2017 and will showcase every area of the film industry, featuring screenings at a number of cultural anchor institutions and outdoor venues. It will also feature a youth festival, stunt exhibitions, pitch opportunities and "on-the-spot" TV and film auditions, in addition to acting, directing, producing, screenwriting, casting and crowd funding workshops.
