National Circus & Acrobats of the People's Republic of China Highlight Kean Stage's Fall Season

Kean University will kick off an eclectic season of world music and dance on the Wilkins Theatre stage with the award-winning National Circus & Acrobats of the People's Republic of China (October 11, 2015 at 4 p.m.), who return to Kean for a second consecutive season with a colorful repertoire of amazing balancing acts, acrobatics, and contortionism. Also this fall, Kean Stage welcomes Flamenco Fire (October 17, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.), presented by legendary flamenco company Compañia Flamenca José Porcel, and The Bollywood Masala Orchestra and Dancers of India's Spirit of India (November 7, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.), a lively musical journey from Rajasthan to Mumbai starring artistic director Rahis Bharti, one of India's greatest musical figures.

Kean Stage's spring offerings include The British Regiments (January 16, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.), featuring the Band of the Royal Marines and the Pipes, Drums & Highland Dancers of the Scots Guards; TAO's Seventeen Samurai (January 30, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.), a thrilling combination of explosive Taiko drumming and innovative choreography; the Moscow Festival Ballet's timeless rendition of the fairytale classic, Sleeping Beauty (March 12, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.); Kean University Dance Ensemble (April 8 & 9, 2016 at 7 p.m.), the university's own resident dance company; and New Jersey Ballet'sCinderella (April 17, 2016 at 2 p.m.), featuring NJB's hallmark "storyteller" narration for young audiences. Kean Stage will also welcome the talented students of the Kean Conservatory of Music to Wilkins Theatre for two free concerts in April; Kean's Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of James Musto, will perform April 18, 2016 at 7:30 p.m., and the Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Walter Weiskopf, is slated for April 20, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.

Kean Stage's popular International Film Series returns to the STEM Auditorium in 2016 with six contemporary cinema selections from around the globe. The series kicks off Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 3 p.m. with The Last of the Unjust(France, 2013), Claude Lanzmann's acclaimed documentary about Benjamin Murmelstein, the last President of the Theresienstadt Jewish Council, and one of the only Jewish elders to survive the Second World War. Also featured in this year's lineup are Hirokazu Koreeda's I Wish (January 31, 2016 at 3 p.m.), Lukas Moodysson's We are the Best! (February 7, 2016 at 3 p.m.), Lorraine Levy's The Other Son (February 14, 2016 at 3 p.m.), Lisa Lax and Nancy Stern's Emmanuel's Gift (February 28, 2016 at 3 p.m.), and Israel Horovitz's My Old Lady (March 6, 2016 at 3 p.m.). All seats for the Film Series are $5.00, or free with a Kean University ID.

Tickets to all performing arts events at Kean University may be purchased by calling the Kean Stage Box Office at 908-737-SHOW (7469) or visiting www.keanstage.com. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the box office, located in Kean University's Wilkins Theatre at 1000 Morris Avenue in Union. The box office is open Mondays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., as well as one hour before any scheduled performance.
