Morris Museum to Host Lenape Indian Family Day, 11/16

Enjoy an afternoon at the Morris Museum and learn about New Jersey's first people - the Lenape Indians. On Saturday, November 16, from noon to 4:00 p.m., the Morris Museum presents Lenape Indian Family Day, free with museum admission.

John Kraft, Creator and Director of Lenape Lifeways, will give presentations that focus on the culture of the Lenape Indians. Participants will see and hold authentic and replicated objects, including stone and bone tools, masks, pottery, clothing, musical instruments, games, and more. Mr. Kraft will be dressed in period costume (17th century) when he discusses Lenape history and shares Lenape stories. Families will be invited to create corn husk dolls, make a clay pot and to design a woven textiles in craft workshops. All activities are drop-in, throughout the afternoon.
