The Department of Theatre and Dance at Montclair State University presents Tom Stoppard's Tony-Nominated, NY Drama Critics' Circle Award-Winning play Arcadia in the Alexander Kasser Theater on the campus of Montclair State University from November 18-21st. Arcadia, which was also shortlisted for the Royal Institution's award for "best science book ever written," investigates relationships between past and present, among people, between emotion and scientific certainty.

Astonishing in its breadth, Arcadia travels seamlessly between 1809 and the present embracing elements of haunting romantic tragedy, suspenseful mystery, and hilarious sex farce. Tom Stoppard's dazzling comic masterpiece is among the most intelligent and poignantly human plays of our time.

This production of Arcadia, directed by Susan Kerner, with dramaturgy by Neil Baldwin, features performances from students in Montclair State University's Department of Theatre and Dance.

Susan Kerner, previously Resident Director at the George Street Playhouse, directs Montclair State University's BFA Acting Program. Neil Baldwin is professor of dramaturgy, theater criticism, and arts administration in the College of the Arts at Montclair State University.
