MCCC's Kelsey Theatre Presents THE MONSTER WHO ATE MY PEAS Today

By:

Just how far should a picky kid go to avoid eating yucky food? That's the dilemma for the young hero of "The Monster Who Ate My Peas," an original musical to be presented by ArtsPower National Touring Theatre at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre today, February 8 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Based on the multi-award winning book written by Danny Schnitzlein and illustrated by Matthew Faulkner, ArtsPower's newest musical tells the funny, poignant story of young Danny, a boy who doesn't want to eat his peas. When a crafty monster appears beneath his kitchen table, Danny is ready to make a deal if the monster will make those dreaded peas disappear. First the monster demands his soccer ball and then his bike. The third request ramps up the stakes, as the monster demands that Danny part with something he holds most dear. Now it's time for Danny to define his values and assert his strength.
