Lacey Township High School Presents GUYS AND DOLLS
Lacey Township High School will present its spring musical, Guys and Dolls, on April 26-28, 2018 at 7:00 pm and a matinee performance on April 29 at 2:00 pm in the LTHS Auditorium. The spring musical is an annual production of the school's performing arts department and the final theatrical presentation for the school year.
The musical marks the first collaboration between the three new performing arts teachers at the high school: Mr. Christopher Montague (band), Mr. Michael Olender (choir), and Dr. Jim DeVivo (theatre). The production will boast one of the biggest student collaborations at LTHS in recent years with over 50 students representing all grade levels involved in the cast, crew, and pit orchestra.
Guys and Dolls is a classic Broadway musical comedy based on a story and characters by Damon Runyon, with book by Abe Burrows and Jo Swirling, and music & lyrics by Frank Loesser. Guys and Dolls is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI) and features such songs as "I've Never Been in Love Before," "Lucky Be A Lady," and "Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat." Ticket prices are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for senior citizens and Lacey students. Additionally, Lacey School District employees receive one complimentary ticket with presentation of Lacey ID. Tickets can be purchased in the Main Office on weekdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 p.m. Seating for all shows is general admission.
LTHS Theatre & Drama produces two shows each school year in conjunction with a curriculum of theatre classes, and a Drama Club chartered as Thespian Troupe #8045, a member of the New Jersey chapter of the International Thespian Society, a division of the Educational Theatre Association. The Theatre & Drama program is part of the larger Performing Arts Department at LTHS that includes programs in band, choir, guitar, music technology, and theatre.
