Kelsey Theatre Hosts Auditions For Their Three Fall Shows, Held 7/28, 7/29

Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre will host auditions this summer for three shows coming to the theatre this fall. Auditions take place on MCCC's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. The room location will be posted at Kelsey Theatre.

PinnWorth Productions will hold auditions for "Equus," a drama by Peter Shaffer that will be directed by Lou J. Stalsworth. Audition dates and times are Tues., July 28 and Wed., July 29 starting at 7 p.m.

All roles are open, including those for seven adults and one teenage boy, as well as five dancers who appear in non-speaking roles as horses. Actors are asked to prepare a three- to five-minute dramatic monologue and be ready to read from the script. Actors must be 17 or older to audition.

Twenty Minutes to Curtain Productions, a company that will perform at Kelsey Theatre for the first time in September, will host auditions for its world premiere musical version of "Alice in Wonderland" at Kelsey Theatre. Auditions will be held Saturday, Aug. 1 and Saturday, Aug. 8, noon to 5 p.m. Claudia Perry directs the show.

All roles are open, including nine adults (paid), seven teens ages 11 to 18, and six children ages 5 to 10. All actors must sing. Actors are asked to prepare one up-tempo song and one ballad in a traditional musical theatre style and to bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. (No CDs or a cappella singing.)

For appointments and questions, call the show's stage manager at 215-788-1336. Rehearsals start Monday, Aug. 17. The show will be performed at Kelsey Theatre Sept. 4-13 with two shows presented on Sept. 5 and 12.

The Yardley Players will hold auditions for "Bus Stop" on Saturday, Aug. 1, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 2, 1 to 4 p.m.

Actors will be asked to read from the script at the audition; no advance preparation is necessary. Roles include adult males and females of various ages and one teenage girl. One of the male actors, age 35-50, must play the guitar.
