The critically acclaimed baseball comedy, ROUNDING THIRD, will play this fall at the Duncan Smith Theater. The cast will feature Broadway veteran, Jim Stanek (Indiscretions; A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum) and Michael Basile (All Dolled Up). This strictly limited engagement opens Friday, September 21st and runs through Saturday, October 6th, 2012. ROUNDING THIRD is written by Richard Dresser, directed by Mary Lynn Dobson, and produced by Rebecca Zaccagnino, Holmdel Theatre Company and Peter Riga, Jr. For more info, visit www.holmdeltheatrecompany.org.

Richard Dresser’s ROUNDING THIRD is a hilarious look at how our culture is teaching our kids— and our parents— to deal with competition and success. This comedy teams up two mismatched men to coach their sons’ Little League baseball team. Don (Basile) is a win-at-all-costs veteran whose son is the star pitcher; Michael (Stanek) is the wide-eyed newcomer who just wants the kids to have fun. The differences drive this funny, acerbic and touching play through the bumpy terrain of not only baseball, but fatherhood as well.

Jim Stanek comes to HTC fresh from the Guthrie Theatre's run of the new musical, Roman Holiday. His other credits include leading roles in such Broadway shows as The Story of My Life, Lestat, Little Women, The Rivals, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and Indiscretions. Michael Basile is a NY-based actor who has appeared Off-Broadway in All Dolled Up and regionally in The Woolgather, Italian American Reconciliation, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, and The Odd Couple as well as numerous television appearances. When not appearing onstage, Michael is one of NYC's Bravest, serving as a firefighter.

Rounding Third will open on Friday, September 21st and play for eight performances at the following dates and times: Fri, 9/21 at 8pm, Sat, 9/22 at 8pm, Sun, 9/23 at 7pm, Fri, 9/28 at 8pm, Sat, 9/29 at 8pm, Sunday, 9/30 at 2pm, Fri, 10/5 at 8pm and Sat, 10/6 at 8pm. All performances are at the Duncan Smith Theater, 36 Crawfords Corner Rd., Holmdel, New Jersey in front of the Holmdel High School. Ticket prices are $22 general public ($17 for seniors and $12 for students). Reservations may be made by calling Smart Tix at (212) 868-4444 or via the website at www.holmdeltheatrecompany.org.
