HIGH SCHOOL REUNION: The Musical Hits The Stage At Brookdale College, Opens 5/15

By:

Laughter, song, and dance rule the evening when Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore present their newest comedy, High School Reunion: The Musical at the Brookdale Community College Performing Arts Center in Lincroft. Weekend performance dates for the premiere engagement are May 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 & 30 at 8:00 p.m., and May 24 & 30 at 3:00 p.m. A special 8:00 p.m. performance on Thursday, May 28 will be followed by a Q&A session with the authors and cast. Parking Lot #2 is most convenient.

With Book & Lyrics by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore, and music by the authors and Nick DeGregorio, fast and funny times are in session again when the Lincroft High School Class of '79 converges for a riotous 30th Reunion. A hysterical trip down memory lane finds the classmates righting old wrongs, rekindling old flames and settling old scores. Mr. Van Zandt, and Gary Shaffer, Toms River, co-direct the 18 member ensemble with choreography by Michele Mossay-Cuevas, Cranford. Los Angeles based conductor Colin Freeman leads the six-piece orchestra.

In addition to the authors, High School Reunion: The Musical features area actors Jeff Babey, Jersey City; Barbara Bonilla, Toms River; Ed Carlo, Maplewood; Michael Chartier, West Long Branch; Tom Frascatore, Middletown; Glenn Jones, Wall; Michael & Lynn Kroll, Tinton Falls; Art Neil & Jackie Neill, Keyport; Kathy Reed, Middletown; Geoff Shields, Atlantic Highlands; Robert Thompson, Roebling; and Susan Travers, Murray Hill. Charles S. Wagner IV and Sally Winter, both from Manhattan, round out the cast.

Included in the behind-the-scenes creative team for High School Reunion: The Musical are set designer Matt Walker, Hazlet; lighting and sound designer Chris Woolley, Howell; and costume designer Kitty Cleary, Interlaken.

Monmouth County natives, Billy Van Zandt & Jane Milmore are the authors of twenty-two plays that are produced worldwide through Samuel French, Inc. The Emmy nominated TV writer/producer team (Martin, The Hughleys, Newhart), have annually staged their original work at the Brookdale Performing Arts Center, where they continue to underwrite on-going scholarships for Brookdale theatre arts students. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the pair's professional writing partnership.

Advance reservations are highly recommended for High School Reunion: The Musical, which will be presented in the Brookdale Performing Arts Main Stage Theatre. Ticket prices are $28 for the general public, and $26 for BCC students with valid ID, and seniors. All seats for the Sunday matinees and the special Thursday evening performance are $25. Tickets are available by calling the Brookdale Performing Arts Center Box Office at 732-224-2411.
