Gershwin's NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT Will Kick Off Surflight's 2018 Summer Season

Surflight Theatre, after a thrilling return from bankruptcy in 2017, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Steve Steiner, presents their first Mainstage production of 2018 with Nice Work If You Can Get It. A hilarious new screwball comedy, Nice Work pokes fun at the Prohibition era in a clash of elegant socialites and boorish bootleggers. This show is set to the glorious songs of George and Ira Gershwin including "Fascinating Rhythm", "Someone to Watch Over Me", and of course the title track "Nice Work If You Can Get It." The musical is sure to thrill the Long Beach Island audiences with its unforgettable score, lyrics, and vibrant dancing.
Paula Hammons Sloan directs and choreographs with Liz Troxler as assistant choreographer. Ms Sloan serves Surflight also as resident Director and Choreographer, Director of Education and General Manager. Ms. Troxler's work was seen last year on the Surflight stage in Newsies where she assisted Ms. Sloan and will be seen later in the season in Bright Star. Musical Direction by Nicholas Kaminski., Costume Design Stephanie Luckey, Sound Design Ian Wehrly, Lighting Design William Gibbons-Brown. The show will star Surflight favorites and real life married couple Andrew Foote as Jimmy Winter and Adrianne Hick as Billie Bendix. Marci Reid will be featured as Estonia Dulworth, and was last seen at Surflight in 2010. Dale Given as Max Evergreen was last seen in Home For The Holidays. The cast features Madeline Huddleson as Eileen Evergreen, Leslie Walker as Jeannie Muldoon, Bobby Daivs as Cookie McGee and Brad Betros as Duke. .
Ensemble will include members of the 2018 Resident Cast: Ashley Agrusa, Parker Aimone, Vincent Andaloro, Lexi Baldachino, Willie Clyde Beaton II, John Guaragna, Alexis Hummell, Masumi Iwai, Madeline Kendall, Ryland Marbutt, Ryan Mulvaney, Colleen Dean, Lizzy Tierney.
