The Eagle Theatre will open its 2014 Season with the popular musical "Footloose" tonight, Jan. 17. The theatre brought in 24 actors from Philadelphia, Delaware, North Jersey and even New York City to build its largest cast ever.

Based off the hit 1984 movie, this musical features many recognizable favorites, such as "Holding Out for a Hero," "Let's Hear It for the Boy," "Almost Paradise," and, of course, "Footloose." Internationally renowned director/choreographer Dann Dunn has served as guest director on this production.

"I am so thrilled to return to the Eagle Theatre with 'Footloose,'" said Dan Dunn. "It has been a pleasure to come back and work with such a supportive staff and an incredibly talented cast assembled of the area's greatest talent."

From touring with "CATS" to working on "Miracle on 34th Street" at Madison Square Garden, Dunn has garnered a reputation for uniting fluid direction with charismatic choreography. He has also worked with numerous regional theatres, including the Walnut Street Theatre, Media Theatre and Arden Theatre Co.

The Eagle Theatre also begins its partnership with the Actors' Equity Association this year. "Footloose" will feature Cara Noel Antosca, who plays Ariel, as the theatre's first Equity actor under contract.

The Eagle Theatre's next production is "Footloose," which runs from Jan. 17 to Feb. 8. Performances will take place on Jan. 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30, 31, Feb. 1, 5, 6, 7 and 8 at 8 p.m., and Jan. 19, 26 and Feb. 2 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $30 for General Admission and $40 for VIP seating. Tickets can be purchased at www.TheEagleTheatre.com. For more information, contact the box office at (609) 704-5012.
