Skyline Theatre Company (STC) is extremely pleased to announce that Emmy winner and Broadway veteran Elaine Bromka is starring in their upcoming production of Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize winning play Driving Miss Daisy, May 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th at the Fair Lawn Community Center in Fair Lawn.

Ms. Bromka, who won an Emmy in 1978 for her outstanding performance in Catch a Rainbow, has been featured as Ellen McDermott on The Sopranos, Melody Cranston on ER, Dr. Finch on Sex in the City and Millie on Will & Grace. On the big screen, she was featured with John Candy as Cindy Russell in Uncle Buck and as Eda in Without a Trace. On Broadway, Ms. Bromka starred as Clara with Judd Hirsch in I'm Not Rappaport, as Mariella in The Rose Tattoo at Circle in the Square, and alongside Nicol Williamson in Macbeth.

Ms. Bromka, who now lives in New Jersey, will star alongside New York stage actor Ward Nixon and Brian Milli of Harrington Park. The play follows the relationship of Miss Daisy Werthan (Bromka) a southern widow and her Chauffeur Hoke (Nixon) played by Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman in the 1989 film version. Milli plays Daisy's white collar son Boolie, played by Dan Aykroyd in the film. Milli was also featured in Proof last season for STC.

This intimate portrait of a most unlikely pair was called "A total delight" by the NY Daily News when it premiered in New York. This three character play takes place in the deep south and spans the years 1948-1873. This story of friendship and family is both funny and poignant and shows how true love and friendship can exist in even the most unlikely places.

Driving Miss Daisy is directed by Broadway director and Skyline's Managing Artistic Director, Sam Scalamoni, who served as the Associate Director of Elton John's Lestat and Disney's Beauty and the Beast on Broadway and worldwide. The creative team also includes Scenic Design by Duane McDevitt of Newark, Eleni Delopolous of New York, and Lighting Design by Jaclyn Klein of Fair Lawn.

Skyline Theatre Company is Bergen County's newest professional theatre company and is an Associate member of the prestigious New Jersey Theatre Alliance. The STC board is comprised of a diverse group of artists, business people and educators who are committed to bring high quality theatre and programs to Bergen County.
