Announcing East Haddam Stage Company's tour of Sherlock Holmes And The Adventure Of The Speckled Band
A 1930 Murder Mystery Live Action Radio Dramatour Runs From September 9th To October 25th
Tour schedule and more info on the company at www.EHSCO.org
The East Haddam Stage Company (EHSCO) has Victorian actor and CT native William Gillette's actual script! Originally broadcast live in October of 1930 out of New York City! (William Gillette created the character of Sherlock Holmes for the stage in 1899)
The program is a 1-hour presentation beginning with a 15-minute introduction by Producing Artistic Director Kandie Carle, exploring mid-20th century radio show history and lore, on to how EHSCO came to have this authentic script, then 4 actors portray 7 different characters (including live sound effects!) in the 30-minute murder mystery. Attendees become the 'studio' audience, and the event wraps up with a Q & A.
The East Haddam Stage Company launched in 2002 with a mission to showcase the talents of CT actors, writers and poets. The company creates intimate, non-musical comedies, dramas, and historical based works as well as outdoor entertainment as the resident theatre company at Gillette Castle State Park, East Haddam. On tour, they bring engaging, funny and thought provoking live theatre to venues across New England and beyond.
