Eagle Theatre Conservatory Launches This Summer

By: Jun. 16, 2016

Eagle Theatre will officially launch its Eagle Theatre Conservatory, designed to provide theatre intensives for children and adults throughout the calendar year, instructed by elite industry professionals.

Two intensives will be offered this summer for children ages 5-15, FIND YOUR SPOTLIGHT and PAGE TO STAGE, geared to ignite imagination, and cultivate creativity. Enrollment has surpassed all previous Eagle Theatre Summer Camps. Conservatory Instructor Kimberly Suskind says "What makes this first year so special is that parents and their children can tailor their summer to suit individual needs. Enrollees have the option to choose between One Week, Multiple Weeks, or a 6 Week Intensive. It has allowed us to develop a detailed curriculum, while allowing ample freedom for fun and creativity."

The first week begins July 11th, at the Eagle Theatre. At the end of each week, a short, free performance will be offered for family members highlighting what the students have learned.

Co-Artistic Director Ted Wioncek III claims "Eagle Theatre Conservatory offers opportunities for aspiring actors to build both social and academic skills. Arts education paves the way for creativity, critical thinking, and assists in exercising one's full potential. It determines the quality of our cultural future."

Co-Artistic Director Ed Corsi adds, "I've watched the growth of our summer offerings over the last five years and it's something very special. We are very excited to not only offer the same fun, social experience, but our instructors have truly improved the educational facet. These campers are really going to be in for a great summer!"

In addition, Eagle is launching its first ever Saturday Teen Camp titled PAGE TO STAGE. For Five Saturdays this summer, teens ages 13-17 will create, write and perform in their own play. When former enrollee Allie Shaw heard the news, she exclaimed, "I can't wait! I had the best time last summer!"

"This camp is really second to none. A more professional, nurturing, learning experience for young performers cannot be found! We absolutely loved this program!", offered Maria Bryan, Mom to 2015 camper Megan Bryan. "My daughter learned so much, made a lot of new friends, and couldn't wait to attend every day. We are looking forward to the exciting changes the Eagle has implemented!"

Registration for the summer as well as the teen camp remains open until July 9th.Visit www.theeagletheatre.com or call 609-704-5012 for more information.
