Debbie McArthur Comes to McCarter Theatre, 5/21
Showbiz legend Debbie Reynolds will bring a lifetime of songs and stories to McCarter Theatre on Saturday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m. She will be accompanied by musical director Joey Singer on piano and Albie Berks on drums.
Debbie Reynolds, long a Hollywood icon, has charmed audiences worldwide with her singing, acting, dancing and good humor since her star turn in the movie musical Singin' in the Rain. She has appeared in more than 30 films, two smash-hit Broadway shows and numerous television programs, (including Will & Grace) as well as nightclub acts that have taken her from Las Vegas and Atlantic City to London's Palladium. A five-time Golden Globe nominee, she has also been recognized with Academy Award and Emmy nominations-and three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Active in charitable causes, she has been a lifelong supporter and fundraiser for the Girl Scouts, and she is founder of The Thalians, which has raised millions of dollars for emotionally disturbed children and AIDS patients. She stars alongside Katherine Heigl in the upcoming film One for the Money, based on the bestselling Janet Evanovich, due for release in winter 2012.
Tickets start at $42 ($15 student tickets with valid ID) and may be purchased by phone at 609-258-2787; online at www.mccarter.org; or at the McCarter Theatre Box Office at 91 University Place in Princeton.
