Cape May Stage Welcomes Back Dave Konig, June 6

Everyone's favorite Hebrew School Dropout is back! Cape May Stage, South Jersey's premier Equity theater, is pleased to welcome back Dave Konig, writer and star of last summer's Hebrew School Dropout, Or: How I Converted from Judaism to Catholicism and Back to Judaism AND Lost Those Stubborn Last 10 Pounds! His hilarious and touching one-man show had Cape May Stage audiences in stitches during a sold out performance last June. This time, Konig will have you splitting your sides with The Further Adventures of a Hebrew School Dropout, detailing all new exploits. Part of Cape May Stage's acclaimed Second Stage Series, the three-time Emmy Award-winning comedian returns for a one-night limited engagement on Monday, June 6th at 8pm at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse at the corner of Bank and Lafayette Streets in beautiful downtown Cape May.

Konig is thrilled to be returning to Cape May. In his new comedy, Dave finds himself in his forties with a wife, four kids, a mortgage, and the target of a thousand commercials for erectile dysfunction - and asks the age-old question: "What the hell happened??"

In a show business career spanning over three decades, Dave Konig hosted HBO's infamous late night comedy series Hardcore TV, hosted and produced the cult hit talk show parody The Dave Konig Show for USA Network, and won three Emmy Awards as host of NY Metro TV's reality/comedy series Subway Q&A. With his wife, acclaimed humor writer Susan Konig, Dave hosted the national, daily comedy talk show Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace for two years on SIRIUS Satellite radio. For many years Konig was also the regular featured comic on The Joey Reynolds Show on WOR-AM.

As a headlining comedian Konig appears regularly at the NY Friars Club, The Borgata in Atlantic City, Holland America and Carnival Cruise lines, and various clubs, casinos, country clubs and quanset huts throughout the land. Konig began his career in show business as an obnoxious young child actor at the age of nine, appearing in several productions on the New York stage, including an acclaimed Off Broadway revival of Herb Gardner's A Thousand Clowns.

Konig starred on Broadway as the libidinous dee-jay Vince Fontaine in Tommy Tune's hit revival of Grease!, as well as countless New York and regional productions including The Odd Couple, Sugar, The Boys Next Door, An Enemy of the People (where he got laughs performing Ibsen - no mean feat!) as well as thousands of sketch comedy and stand up comedy revues.
