Broadway Star Laura Benanti to Perform at SOPAC This Fall

Acclaimed Broadway leading lady Laura Benanti, a Tony Award-winner and five-time Tony Award-nominated actress, will perform at the South Orange Performing Arts Center on Friday, November 3 at 8 p.m.

She recently completed her 2016 Tony-nominated role as Amalia Balash in the hit Broadway musical, She Loves Me. In 2008 she earned a Tony Award for her portrayal of Gypsy Rose Lee in Gypsy opposite Patti LuPone. The actress's other Tony Award nominations were for starring roles in Swing, Into The Woods, and Women on The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

On television, Laura Benanti can currently be seen in the role of Alura Zor-El in the CW action drama, Supergirl. She won critical acclaim for her performance as Elsa Schrader in NBC's The Sound Of Music LIVE. Her other recurring television roles have been on ABC's Nashville, CBS's The Good Wife, and as a dead-ringer for FLOTUS, Melania Trump, on CBS's The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

The golden-throated Benanti completed a week-long engagement at the popular New York cabaret club, Feinstein's/54 Below. In September 2013, she released her debut album, In Constant Search of the Right Kind of Attention: Live at 54 Below on Broadway Records to ecstatic reviews.
